Our work embraces infrastructure, architecture and interior design, which ranges from new buildings to renovations within older existing structures. The firm specializes in healthcare facilities such as retirement homes, as well as other hospitality projects. “Success in building depends largely upon how and where you begin, and you don't begin with architecture!” This statement points to the need for a comprehensive planning process before a group can make informed decisions about architecture. Indeed, 90% of the success of any project is due to the commitment and effort of the group in identifying its’ mission, goals, program needs and priorities during the early planning stages. Often, we take on the role of architect as mediator between the many interests that seek to influence the direction of a project. We try to establish the common ground through understanding the relevant issues. Through honesty and experience, we seek to present a compromise that balances the various constraints of a project, including; zoning, building science, budget, the environment, local context, history, government processes and the desires of the people whose interests are represented and affected by the execution of the work. |
